Monte Mai
Atlantis - Saturday, August 22

Monte Mai is a psychedelic Swiss-Caribbean avant-pop trio made up of Fabio Besomi, Fabio Pinto and Anaïs Schmidt. Their sound is a unique blend of Swiss precision and tropical energy.

A balanced blend of expansive melodies, ethereal vocals and electronic rhythms, harmoniously fused. This music is striking for its intense emotion and its ability to marry the electronic coldness of machines with the innate beauty of human sensitivity.

The composition and production are incredibly polished and wonderfully unpredictable, oscillating between minimalist soundscapes and denser, more saturated ones, with disarming originality and fluidity.

A retro-maniacal journey through alternative pop and live electronics, driven by a strong desire to explore new musical paths. Their debut album, “Eye Sea Double”, released in early 2023 to critical acclaim, quickly propelled them into the sphere of artists compared to names like Metronomy, LCD Soundsystem, The Knife, Son Lux, Animal Collective and Vanishing Twin. They have been invited to perform at prestigious festivals such as Fusion Festival (2024), Reeperbahn (2024), Mi Ami (2024), Apolide (2024), Balélec (2022) and M4Music (2023).

To date, they have shared the stage with internationally renowned artists such as Ibeyi, M83, Cigarettes After Sex, Los Bitchos, Nu Genea, Phoenix, CCCP, Bar Italia and Erlend Øye.

Their new album, produced by Emmental visionary Domi Chansorn, will be released in March 2025 on the independent Swiss label Il Domani. The release of this album will be followed by a major tour of Switzerland, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, the Czech Republic and France.
