KACIMI’s music plunges us, in a modern, contemporary reading, into the heart of French sixties pop, at once cinematic, yéyé, beat and poetic, where psychedelic rhythm n’blues and garage rock n’roll mingle with love ballads suspended in time, flirting with electronica.
After a string of band experiences over the past twenty years through numerous records, formations and concerts including The Rebels of Tijuana and Le Roi Angus, KACIMI has released a number of critically acclaimed solo albums since 2015 (BBC, Rock & Folk, Rolling Stone, Les Inrockuptibles, Shindig, RTS, FIP, France Inter, KEXP…). Records interspersed with several singles and numerous collaborations since 2020 (Lionel Limiñana, Wendy Martinez, Alexis Fugain, Initials MB, Blot, L’Eclair). Kacimi has performed regularly in France, Switzerland and Germany, opening for The Limiñanas and Bertrand Burgalat, among others.
In recent years, KACIMI has written music for various series, commercials and events (Emily in Paris, You’re The Worst, Orangina, Festival de Cannes…).), KACIMI manages the Le Pop Club Records label, with which he has released some 80 titles (Nick Wheeldon, Le Superhomard, Satellite Jockey…), and specializes in French film scores, with vinyl reissues of “Coup de Tête”, “Les Tontons Flingueurs”, “Un Singe en Hiver”, and “Le Magnifique”.
