IKAN HYU’s explosive live performances have become a fixture on the European music scene. Their two-piece way of deploying the power of a “full band” is as unique as the resulting sound: free, glitchy, beautiful, deep and unpredictable.

Both frontwomen play up to three instruments at the same time: Hannah’s instruments include acoustic and electronic drums, a Kaossilator and a synth bass; Anisa’s instruments include a drum pad and an electric guitar/keyboard hybrid she designed herself, enabling her to play guitar and bass simultaneously. And then there are their voices, alternating or blending in harmony.

Complemented by artworks, merchandising, lighting elements and stage outfits – all entirely DIY – the duo create a world of their own.
