For Swiss-Palestinian pop musician Jamila, creating space for vulnerability and introspection is at the very heart of her musical writing. She became interested in music at an early age, but for a long time it was hard for her to imagine her songs existing anywhere but in the safe space of her bedroom. Only recently has she found the courage to invite others in and share her music.<\/p>\n

Inspired by artists such as Gracie Abrams and Holly Humberstone, Jamila captivates audiences with her dreamy guitar sound and poetic directness. Authenticity is always at the heart of her writing: Jamila’s words, similar to the pages of a diary, often give the impression of a spontaneous confession – honest, raw and full of urgency.<\/p>\n

Jamila’s music has enjoyed a remarkable rise in recent months, earning her extensive airplay on all the major Swiss national radio stations, including a spot as SRF 3 Best Talent.<\/p>\n

Spotify highlighted her as one of its artists to watch in 2025 and chose her as ambassador for their EQUAL GSA campaign, while Apple Music followed suit by naming her UP NEXT artist.<\/p>\n

Buoyed by this momentum, Jamila has already graced the stages of some of Switzerland’s most prestigious festivals – including the Montreux Jazz Festival, the Gurtenfestival and the m4music Festival – as well as performing twice at this year’s Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg.<\/p>\n

This year, Jamila was nominated at the Swiss Music Awards in the SRF 3 Best Talent category.<\/p>\n
